Skipper Andy Hills and his boat the Lauren Anne sail out of Brighton docks daily to catch a wide variety of fish. Andy and his crew know that to give their customers great value, they have to put quality ahead of quantity. They make the most of the day’s catch by grading and selling it within hours of its landing. This way the fish are as close to perfect as they can be.
Andy is just one of the many local fishermen from around the British Coast who Skipper’s Catch work with so we will also be sourcing Gurnard from day boats landing in Brixham.
Our Devon Crabs are pot-caught by day boats in well managed fisheries off the South Devon coast. This succulent Crab meat, which is regarded by many chefs as the sweetest and finest textured Crab meat available, is superb for Crab cakes, chowders, salads and pasta.
Our Salmon, hot smoked over a special blend of high quality oak chippings from whiskey and calvados barrels, has a unique texture and distinctive flavour. The smoking technique and processes used by our supplier are very traditional with the grading, filleting, curing and cutting still mostly done by hand.
These skinless and boneless portions of Cod caught in the northern and central area of the North Sea, come already cut into thick strips so you only need to dip them in your signature batter, or coating of your choice, for a simple and delicious fish and chips solution!
